On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the tranquility was shattered by the sound of a gunshot, prompting a call to Walton County 911 at approximately 11 p.m. Social Circle police officers were dispatched to 517 Spring Street, where they discovered 40-year-old Jarbar Hector on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services from Walton County and the
Social Circle Fire Rescue arrived swiftly, providing immediate medical attention to Hector at the scene. He was then transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Jarbar Hector ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
In the wake of the shooting, the Social Circle Police Department launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Hector's death. Their efforts quickly led them to a suspect, a 42-year-old woman from the same community. Yolanda Allen, a resident of Spring Street in Social Circle, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting.
Following her arrest, Allen was transported to the Walton County Detention Center. She was initially charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.
