On the evening of Thursday, November 30, 2023, a fatal encounter unfolded at a Chinese restaurant in South Fulton, Georgia, claiming the life of 40-year-old Syfee Westmoreland. The incident, which began as a physical altercation, escalated to gunfire, leaving the community unsettled and a family in mourning. Westmoreland, a male resident of the area, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds following the dispute at the Fried Rice King on Old National Highway.

According to law enforcement, the series of events that led to Westmoreland's death began inside the restaurant. An argument between Westmoreland and another man, identified as Evanson Morin, turned violent. Authorities state that Westmoreland initiated the physical confrontation by punching Morin several times. In response to the attack, Morin allegedly drew a firearm and shot Westmoreland. The violence spilled outside the restaurant, where Morin is said to have fired additional shots as Westmoreland attempted to flee.

Following the shooting, emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Westmoreland was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed his identity. An investigation into the homicide was launched by the South Fulton Police Department, which quickly identified Evanson Morin as the suspect.

Morin was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Fulton County jail. He is facing serious charges in connection with the death of Syfee Westmoreland, including one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The case is now proceeding through the criminal justice system, and further details regarding a trial and potential conviction are pending the outcome of these legal proceedings.
