In the late afternoon of November 30, 2023, the quiet of a Statesboro, Georgia neighborhood was shattered by gunfire. Antawan Derell Strickland, a 39-year-old man, was found lying in the driveway of a residence on Success Court with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 3:15 p.m., and Strickland was rushed to East Georgia Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
