On February 10, 2024, 25-year-old Cortavius Hassan Ates was found dead due to a gunshot wound in Macon, Georgia. The incident occurred near the intersection of Jeffersonville Road and Roseview Drive. The Macon-Bibb E-911 Center received a call at 4:47 p.m. reporting shots fired in the area, and deputies responded to the scene to find Ates unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley.
