On April 22, 2024, Robert Lamar Herrington, a 39-year-old African American male from Millen, Georgia, was fatally shot during an altercation on Corbett Street. Responding to a 911 call, Millen Police officers found Herrington suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
