On May 26, 2024, 21-year-old Nicholas Nickson from Wrightsville, Georgia, was tragically murdered in Laurens County. The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. when deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Keens Crossing Road in East Dublin, where they found Nickson's body. He had been shot several times and was pronounced dead by Laurens County Deputy Coroner Nathan Stanley at 7:43 p.m..
