David Hooks, a 59-year-old white male, was fatally shot on September 24, 2014, during a drug raid at his home in East Dublin, Georgia. The raid was conducted by Laurens County officers who were acting on a search warrant obtained by investigator Christopher Brewer. The warrant was based on information from a known drug user, Rodney Garrett, who claimed to have stolen a vehicle from Hooks' property and found a large quantity of methamphetamine inside. However, no drugs were found during the raid.
