On the night of June 23, 2024, at approximately 11:34 p.m., Atlanta police responded to a distress call in the 3800 block of Old Gordon Road NW, near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered 21-year-old Junior Vasquez-Mendez and 21-year-old Jose A. Ozuna with apparent gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
