In the early morning hours of a Sunday in March 2014, a violent home invasion in southeast Atlanta tragically cut short the lives of 23-year-old Johnnie Jackson and his girlfriend, 24-year-old Alina Schiavo. The incident unfolded shortly before 3:30 a.m. at their apartment on Conley Road. Responding to a call, police discovered a grim scene. Jackson was found shot to death inside the residence, while Schiavo, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was found outside.
She was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities believed the attack was not a random act, suggesting the couple may have been targeted. The brutality of the crime was stark, with investigators describing it as an 'execution-style' slaying.
