In the spring of 2024, a dispute between a father and son in a Brookhaven, Georgia apartment escalated to a fatal conclusion. The victim was 48-year-old Clinton Dorsey, a male known in the Atlanta music scene as the producer 'D-Billz'. The argument took place inside an apartment at the Arium Lenox Park complex on Gables Drive on the morning of May 2nd.
The disagreement reportedly stemmed from the family's dog breeding business.
What began as a verbal argument between Clinton Dorsey and his 22-year-old son, Edward Dorsey, soon turned into a physical altercation. In a tragic turn of events, Edward Dorsey is said to have retrieved a semi-automatic pistol and shot his father. Police who were called to the scene found Clinton Dorsey with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Following the incident, Edward Dorsey was arrested and taken into custody. He was subsequently booked into the DeKalb County Jail, facing charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. In the wake of the shooting, reports emerged that Edward Dorsey had alleged a history of abuse by his father, dating back to 2019. The case continues to move through the legal system.
