In the early hours of a summer morning in Albany, Georgia, the life of 33-year-old Demarcus D. Lewis was cut short by gunfire. On July 18, 2024, Lewis was shot and killed in what authorities have described as a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Gillespie Avenue, where Lewis was found with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency services responded to the scene, but his injuries proved fatal.
