On August 9, 2024, 19-year-old African American male Aaron Donye Shade White was fatally shot in Albany, Georgia. The incident occurred in the early hours at the Mt. Zion Garden apartment complex, located in the 200 block of Slater King Drive. White was struck by a single bullet and was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:35 a.m.
