On October 5, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred at the Oakview Place Apartments in Hephzibah, Georgia, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Stephon Jones. The incident was reported to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office around 3:03 a.m., and upon arrival, officers found Jones suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Despite immediate medical aid, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:10 a.m..
