On a summer evening, the Fourth of July in Washington, D.C. was tragically marked by violence that claimed the life of Keith Bradley, a 54-year-old male from Southeast, D.C. At approximately 6:45 p.m., in the 600 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast, the sounds of gunfire shattered the holiday atmosphere. When officers from both the Metropolitan Police Department and the Prince George's County Police Department arrived at the scene, which sits on the border between the District and Maryland, they
discovered a grim sight.
Bradley was found in the driver's seat of a vehicle, having sustained at least one gunshot wound. The car he had been driving had crashed into a building following the shooting. Emergency medical personnel from Prince George's County Fire and EMS responded quickly and transported him to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Keith Bradley succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch is leading the investigation into the shooting.
