Jackie Lee Harris, aged 52, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside his apartment at the La Esperanza Apartments, located on University Boulevard South in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 21, 2015. The shooting occurred just after midnight, and police responded quickly to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers found Harris already deceased in his apartment.
His friend, Raymond Conner, who lived nearby, discovered Harris after noticing the door to the apartment was partially open. Conner found Harris lying between the couch and coffee table, a scene that he described as unforgettable.
Police investigated the crime scene for several hours, searching for clues that could lead to the perpetrator. Despite the extensive investigation, the case remains unsolved, and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is appealing to the community for any information that might help solve the case. Crime Stoppers has also offered a cash reward of up to $3,000 for any tip that leads to an arrest, and family members, including Harris's sister Vikki, have pleaded for answers and justice for Jackie Harris.
