Victortadao Hobbs, also known as Maurice Hobbs, was tragically murdered on January 26, 2017, just two days after celebrating his 18th birthday. The young man, who had dreams of a music career, was shot while walking down Agave Road in Jacksonville, Florida, alongside a friend who survived with injuries. Maurice's mother, Latasha Hobbs, was on her way to pick him up when he was killed.
Witnesses reported seeing a black car fleeing the scene, but despite multiple interviews, no significant leads have emerged to solve the case.
Latasha Hobbs has since become an advocate against violence, visiting crime scenes and encouraging community members to speak up if they have information about her son's murder or other violent incidents. The memorial maintained on Agave Road serves as a reminder to the community of the ongoing search for justice. Despite the time that has passed, Latasha continues to work closely with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and has offered a reward for information that could lead to an arrest.
