On May 25, 2009, Hagos Gebreagziabher, a 41-year-old Ethiopian immigrant and store owner, was shot and killed in front of his wife outside his convenience store in Northwest Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred late at night as Gebreagziabher was closing the Family Food Store, located in the 2100 block of West 13th Street.
