Douglas Timothy Davidson Jr., a 33-year-old resident of the Pace area in Milton, Florida, passed away on January 1, 2023. He was found dead at a home in the 3900 block of Deerwood Circle in Pace, Florida, with a gunshot wound.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning and was identified as a domestic violence incident. Davidson's wife, 32-year-old Chloe Davidson, a former cadet with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, has been charged with First Degree Felony Homicide and Second
Degree Felony Weapons Offense. She is currently being held in Santa Rosa County Jail without bond.
Doug Davidson was a dedicated member of his community and worked for Florida Power & Light. He was also an active member of the Pace Athletic Recreation Association (PARA), where he served as a coach and board member. He had a significant impact on the local youth, particularly in baseball and football, and was remembered for his tireless efforts in improving the park facilities for young athletes.
Davidson is survived by his three sons, Khai, Dawson, and Jack, as well as his parents, Brenda and Douglas Davidson Sr., and other family members including his aunt Leigh, uncle Scott Dunbar, and grandparents. The community has expressed deep sorrow and support for his family, especially his young children, during this difficult time.
The Pace Athletic Recreation Association released a statement honoring Davidson's contributions, highlighting his dedication to the park and the positive influence he had on the lives of many young athletes. Florida Power & Light also issued a statement expressing their condolences to the family and acknowledging the tragic loss of one of their employees.
