Devontae Lawson, a 45-year-old man, was fatally shot in St. Petersburg, Florida, on March 3, 2023. The incident occurred following an argument between Lawson and Tyrone Anthony Walker, a 41-year-old man.
According to the investigation, the argument led to Walker shooting Lawson to death. After the shooting, Walker allegedly dumped Lawson's body in an alley located in the 4500 block of 21st Avenue South in St. Petersburg. Police were called to the area around 3:30 p.m.
and discovered the body.
Tyrone Anthony Walker was subsequently located and arrested by St. Petersburg police detectives, with assistance from the Tampa Police Department, on Saturday in Tampa. Walker has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently in custody.
The case was resolved quickly, with Walker's arrest and charging occurring just a few days after the discovery of Lawson's body, bringing some closure to the investigation into Lawson's death. Lawson's death was attributed to gun violence, highlighting the tragic consequences of such incidents.
