On April 24, 2023, at approximately 3:30 AM, officers from the Titusville Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a residence located on the 600 block of Palmetto Street in Titusville, Florida. Upon arrival, they found 56-year-old Carl F. Wigfall with apparent fatal gunshot wounds. Wigfall was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had shot Wigfall in the residence and then fled the scene. It was determined that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.
Following the investigation, detectives issued a warrant for the arrest of Dominic Michaud Bland, 31, of Titusville. Bland was subsequently located and taken into custody on April 26, 2023. He was charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Fleeing and Eluding from Law Enforcement, two counts of Violation of Probation, Resisting Arrest, and Driving with a Suspended License with Knowledge.
Bland is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail without bond. The homicide investigation remains ongoing, with detectives working on all leads and encouraging anyone with information to contact the Titusville Police Department or Crimeline for a potential reward of up to $5,000.
