Summary based on 12 sources
Trevon Robinson was a 14-year-old Black teenager from Hillsborough County, Florida. On the night of April 29, 2023, he was with a large group of other young people outside Dezerland Park, an indoor attraction on Orlando's International Drive. Orlando police officers were already at the scene around 11:43 p.m. to monitor the crowd, which had been reported for loitering.

As the group of teenagers began walking off the property, an individual opened fire, shooting several rounds into the crowd. Three 14-year-old boys were struck by the gunfire and rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Trevon Robinson died from his injuries at the hospital. A second boy was treated and released, while the third was left in critical condition with paralyzing, life-changing injuries.

The Orlando Police Department began a homicide investigation. For weeks, no suspect was publicly identified. Then, on May 26, 2023, police arrested 16-year-old Jasper Rollins II in connection with the shooting. He was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm.

The case took a significant turn over three years later. In July 2026, the Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office announced it was dropping all charges against Rollins. Prosecutors explained that while there had been enough evidence for an arrest, there was insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt at trial. They noted that the prosecution was complicated by the fact that many witnesses were children, and some who had given initial statements later recanted them.

The dismissal left the victims' families devastated. Trevon's mother, Arielle Wilson, said she felt justice had not been served and described her family's loss as "irreplaceable damage." As of July 2026, Trevon Robinson's murder remains unsolved. The State Attorney's Office has stated the case could be reopened if new evidence emerges.
