On May 6, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida, resulting in the deaths of two men, one of whom was identified as Damien Sinclair, aged 28. The shooting took place around 3 AM on the intersection of Forsyth and Julia Streets.
According to the investigation, Jacksonville Fire Rescue was called to the scene, where one of the men, Damien Sinclair, was found dead.
The other victim, identified as Alphonso Sanders, was transported to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries despite life-saving efforts.
Damien Sinclair and Alphonso Sanders were cousins, and their family described them as good people who would do anything for their family. Their uncle, Leonard Ross, mentioned that the two were out having fun at a club when the incident occurred. Ross emphasized their positive qualities, stating that they were real good people who were family-oriented.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is still investigating the incident, reviewing surveillance video from local businesses and interviewing witnesses. The area where the shooting occurred had multiple cars that were also struck by gunfire, indicating a chaotic and dangerous scene.
As of the current date, there is no mention of any arrests or suspects in connection with the shooting that resulted in the deaths of Damien Sinclair and Alphonso Sanders. The JSO continues to seek information and cooperation from the public to resolve the case.
