Bernard Cason, a 29-year-old man, was fatally shot on March 11, 2012, in Jacksonville, Florida, during the filming of a music video. The incident occurred at Washington Estates Drive near Soutel Drive, in the northwest part of the city. Bernard was inside a white Dodge Charger when shots rang out, hitting him and injuring two others who survived. At the time of the shooting, there were over 150 people at the scene, many of whom may have witnessed the events leading up to Bernard’s death.
Despite this large crowd, the case remains unsolved, and no suspects have been apprehended.
The Jacksonville community continues to seek justice for Bernard Cason. A $4,000 reward has been offered for any information that could lead to an arrest. Crime Stoppers and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office have urged anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community assistance in solving the case.
Bernard left behind a son, who, even years later, has expressed his hope for an end to gun violence in the community.
