On May 27, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Oak Ridge, Florida, resulting in the death of 58-year-old James Cooper. Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call in the 2000 block of Rivertree Circle around 8 a.m. and found Cooper at the scene. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
