On June 23, 2023, at approximately 9:46 p.m., Orlando Police Officers responded to a shooting call at the 500 block of Verbena Court in Orlando, Florida. Upon arrival, they found a subject inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The Orlando Fire Department (OFD) also responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as Pedro Bautista-Sanchez, a 46-year-old male, although some sources list his age as 47.
His death was a result of gun violence, marking a tragic incident in the community.
Following an investigation by the Orlando Police Homicide Detectives, a suspect was identified and arrested. On May 2, 2024, Jose Antonio Sanchez, a 33-year-old male, was taken into custody by members of the Fugitive Investigative Unit. Sanchez has been charged with First Degree Murder and Burglary of a dwelling with a firearm in connection with the death of Pedro Bautista-Sanchez.
