On June 29, 2023, Quynn K. Robinson Sr., a 35-year-old man from Jacksonville, Florida, was found shot dead inside his vehicle on West 45th Street in the Moncrief area. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots in the 1600 block of 45th Street, where they discovered Robinson's body. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation suggested that it is possible Robinson was shot elsewhere and then drove to the location where his body was found, making it unclear exactly where the shooting occurred. Robinson was remembered by his family as a devoted brother, father, and uncle who was working to become a pastor. He was the fourth of 14 children and was described by his mother as a "beautiful soul" who would give anything to help others.
Robinson's family was deeply affected by his death and appealed to the community for any information that could help in the investigation. His sister expressed her frustration and sadness, urging young people in the community to stop engaging in violent activities that contribute to the loss of fathers and the suffering of families.
Following a thorough investigation that included reviewing evidence and conducting interviews, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified Briyhon Johnson, a 22-year-old man, as a suspect in Robinson's murder. Johnson, who was already in jail on unrelated charges at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility, was arrested for the murder on June 27, 2024.
