On July 4, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred at the VYPZ lounge, a nightclub located near the 4200 block of North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. The victim, identified as 29-year-old Travis Turner, was found suffering from gunshot wounds when deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 2:15 a.m. Despite lifesaving efforts, Turner was pronounced dead at the scene.
