Ernest Charles Petway Jr., a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot in the Parramore community of Orlando, Florida, on August 23, 2023. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, with police responding to a shooting call in the 800 block of West Anderson Street at approximately 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found Petway Jr. suffering from gunshot injuries. He was immediately transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation led to the arrest of Antwan Kegler, a 40-year-old man, on charges of murder and aggravated battery. Kegler was taken into custody by deputies from the Orange and Osceola County Sheriff’s Offices on August 24, 2023.
The Orlando Police Department's Homicide Unit is still seeking information related to the incident and has urged anyone with relevant details to contact them or the Central Florida Crimeline.
