On December 10, 2023, 17-year-old Hispanic female Sofia Tellez Lugo was found deceased from a gunshot wound in a bedroom at a residence on NW 111th Court in Ocala, Florida. The home belonged to the family of her boyfriend, 21-year-old Saul Garcia Macias. According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Sofia's body was discovered with a close-contact gunshot wound beneath her chin, and a freshly inked tattoo of the name "Saul" was observed on her right arm.
