Jonah Mendoza, a 6-month-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on January 4, 2013, in Ocala, Florida. The infant was shot and killed by his mother, Melanie Reyes, who then attempted to take her own life. Reyes, a 20-year-old Hispanic female, was found in critical condition but was later taken off life support and pronounced dead.
