On February 27, 2024, Sherese Stafford, a 33-year-old woman, was found dead from a gunshot wound at her residence located at 16849 NE 41st Ct. in Citra, Florida. Law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 4:13 p.m. and discovered Stafford's body upon arrival.

The investigation led by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office identified Stafford’s husband, 41-year-old Kenron Vereen, as the suspect in the shooting. Witnesses reported that Vereen fled the scene in a ...
