Vernell Bing Jr., aged 22, was fatally shot by a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer, Tyler Landreville, on May 22, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident began with a high-speed chase after Bing, who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle. The chase ended when Bing crashed into a police vehicle in the Springfield neighborhood, one of Jacksonville's historic Black areas.
