On May 12, 2024, a deadly shooting occurred in the 500 block of S. Howard Avenue in Tampa, Florida, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Kenneth Washington. Washington, a 28-year-old black male born on January 15, 1996, was one of the three adult males injured in the shooting. The incident happened just before 3:00 a.m. in front of a Jimmy John's restaurant, where officers on patrol responded to reports of shots fired.
