On May 19, 2024, Brayan Rivera Garcia, a 24-year-old man, was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 1300 block of Treasure Key Court in Tampa, Florida. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:04 a.m. and located Garcia, who was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives believe this to be an isolated event and are actively working to determine the events that led to the shooting. Sheriff Chad Chronister emphasized the importance of community cooperation, stating that detectives are leaving no stone unturned and urging anyone with information to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
As part of the investigation, authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying three individuals who may have crucial information about the shooting. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office released video footage of these individuals in an effort to gather more details. Sheriff Chronister appealed to the community, asking anyone who recognizes these individuals to come forward, as their information could be vital in bringing justice to the victim and his family.
