On June 2, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at a residence in the Kendall Lakes area of Southwest Miami-Dade, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including 84-year-old Mercedes Morato.

Mercedes Morato, along with her husband Jesus Regueira, Sr., 83, their son Jesus Regueira, Jr., 62, and Jesus Regueira, Jr.'s partner, Kyrsten Marie Stahre, 61, were found dead inside their home at 4510 SW 137th Court.
