On June 28, 2024, Darious Beale, a 29-year-old resident of Orange Park, Florida, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Laurel Grove apartments. The incident occurred around 11 p.m., according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Beale was outside when he was shot multiple times. Despite being taken to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators believe that Beale was targeted, and the incident is considered an isolated event.
