On December 20, 2023, Maria Quesada, a 40-year-old resident of Creston, California, tragically lost her life in a murder-suicide incident involving her stepfather, 60-year-old Arturo Quesada. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department reported that around 12:30 p.m., Maria placed a distressing 911 call during a domestic dispute with Arturo at their residence on the 2700 block of Calf Canyon Highway. During the call, dispatchers overheard what they believed to be gunshots.
