Adrian Joel Gonzales, a 20-year-old man, was identified as one of the two victims in a deadly shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning on July 9, 2024, at the Rapallo apartment complex in Kissimmee, Florida. The incident took place on Marta Circle, near the intersection of Centerview Boulevard and Osceola Parkway, and across the street from BJ’s Wholesale Club.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a call after midnight regarding multiple gunshots fired at the complex.
Responding deputies found two males shot in a corridor; one was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died after being transported to a local hospital. A third individual, described as a person of interest, was found in the bushes with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital, where he remains in police custody.
Sheriff Marcos Lopez stated that the shooting appears to be isolated and involved individuals who were known to each other. One of the victims, later identified as Adrian Joel Gonzales, had recently moved to the area and the apartment complex. The name of the second victim has not been released due to the ongoing investigation.
The investigation suggests that the shooting may be drug-related, with evidence and multiple weapons found at the scene. Lopez described the incident as a "shootout" and expressed relief that there were few people out during the hours when the incident occurred, minimizing the risk to other residents of the complex.
Gonzales was remembered by his family and friends as a lovable, funny person with a contagious laugh. A GoFundMe page was set up by his mother, Sonia Agosto, to help cover his funeral expenses. Gonzales leaves behind his mother, father Hector, brothers Gabriel and Kristian, and sister Karianna.
