On August 1, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the Arlington area of Jacksonville, Florida, resulting in the deaths of 43-year-old Brian Gates and his girlfriend. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) was alerted to the situation when a man flagged down a patrol officer near the corner of Whitlock Avenue and Arlington Road, stating that he had shot two people inside a home on Whitlock Avenue.
