On September 20, 2024, Tasha Smith, a 36-year-old woman, was fatally shot during a gunfight at the Tropical Manor apartment complex in Merritt Island, Florida. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the complex, where a physical altercation between two men escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Tasha Smith, who was not involved in the altercation, was caught in the crossfire and shot.
