In the summer of 2014, a senseless act of violence tragically cut short the life of three-year-old Tynirah Borum in Philadelphia. On the evening of August 1st, Tynirah was sitting on a front porch in her Grays Ferry neighborhood, having her hair braided, when gunfire erupted. A stray bullet struck the young girl in the chest, and she was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
