On the evening of March 20, 2023, in Meriden, Connecticut, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm near the intersection of West Main Street and Lewis Avenue. When police arrived around 6 p.m., they discovered a grim scene inside a parked car. Shawn Mojica, a 30-year-old Black/African American male, was inside the vehicle with a woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds. A handgun was also found within the car.
