On March 30, 2024, Tayvon Geter, a 32-year-old man from Bridgeport, Connecticut, was fatally shot during an incident at an illegal gambling club located on Stratford Avenue. Geter, along with 30-year-old Richard Davis, was involved in a robbery at the club, where they were armed and wearing masks. According to investigators, the robbery turned violent when one of the gamblers, who was being robbed at gunpoint, opened fire. Both Geter and Davis were killed in the gunfire.
