In early January 2023, the life of 5-year-old Liam Joseph Brueche was tragically cut short in Florissant, Colorado. The young male's death was the result of a murder-suicide orchestrated by his father, 53-year-old William Brueche. The devastating chain of events began to unfold on the night of January 4th, when William failed to appear for a court-mandated child exchange with Liam's mother in the Teller County Sheriff's Office parking lot.
Concern for Liam's safety prompted an immediate
search by deputies, who began scouring William Brueche's home and other known locations throughout the night. The search continued into the following day. Shortly after noon on January 5th, the Teller County dispatch received a 911 call about an unconscious man inside a truck that matched the description of William's vehicle.
Responding deputies confirmed it was indeed William Brueche's truck. Inside, they made the grim discovery of both William and his young son, Liam, who were both deceased. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation, alongside Teller County deputies, processed the scene and determined that the incident was a murder-suicide, with William Brueche as the sole suspect. Liam was a beloved son and brother who enjoyed playing with cars and trucks, riding his bike, and being outdoors.
