In the winter of 2023, the life of 48-year-old Kenneth Mario Delamaestra, a male resident of Denver, Colorado, was tragically cut short. On February 20th, his body was discovered in a parking lot situated behind 6565 East Evans Avenue. The Denver Police Department promptly launched an investigation into his death.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Delamaestra had died from a gunshot wound.
His death was officially ruled a homicide, turning a death investigation into a murder case. The shooting is believed to have taken place in the vicinity of the 2000 block of South Monaco Parkway, near East Evans Avenue in the southeastern part of the city. Initially, Metro Denver Crime Stoppers sought the public's help in identifying a suspect seen wearing a white jacket over a dark sweatshirt and an orange knit cap.
Less than two weeks later, on March 2, 2023, the Denver District Attorney's Office announced a significant development in the case. Two individuals, 43-year-old Christopher Meza and 23-year-old Isaac Reiner, were arrested in connection with Delamaestra's murder. Meza was met with a string of serious charges, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and two counts of aggravated robbery. Reiner faced charges of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated robbery. Both men were advised of the charges brought against them, marking a crucial step in the pursuit of justice for Kenneth Delamaestra.
