In the fading daylight of a Saturday evening in Aurora, Colorado, the life of 13-year-old Phoenix Tyler Day was tragically cut short. On March 25, 2023, what began as a dispute inside the Town Center at Aurora mall escalated into a fatal encounter in the parking lot. An altercation that started in the food court near the mall's closing time spilled outside, culminating in Phoenix being shot twice just after 8 p.m.
