In the early hours of May 23, 2024, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a call regarding a shooting on South Nevada Avenue, near the I-25 southbound off-ramp. Upon their arrival at approximately 6:04 AM, officers discovered a male victim who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The man was quickly transported to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.
