Jeremiah White, aged 20, was tragically killed on December 18, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida. His body was discovered at the end of a driveway on Talladega Road, after police responded to reports of a man lying on the ground just after 7 a.m. Jeremiah had been shot multiple times in the back, and he was pronounced dead when police arrived. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots during the night, describing a sequence of shots followed by a brief pause and then several more.
However, no one was able to identify the shooter, and the incident remains an unsolved homicide.
Jeremiah's death occurred just one week before Christmas, and his family has been left devastated. His mother, Penelope White, shared that her son was a caring and gentle young man who played a big role in keeping the family together. Despite growing up with hardships, including the absence of his father, Jeremiah took on responsibilities for his younger siblings and became a positive influence on those around him. He was remembered for his love of cooking, especially grilling during family gatherings, and was known to care deeply for his family and community.
Although the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has been investigating, and Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $3,000 for information, no leads have resulted in an arrest so far. Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward, as even the smallest tip could be instrumental in solving the case and bringing closure to Jeremiah’s family.
