Earl Gregory Carter Jr., age 22, was shot and killed on December 26, 2012, in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident took place while Earl was waiting for a ride with friends outside his mother's home on W. 25th Street. Earl, who was home from college for the holidays, was enjoying time with family before he planned to return to Tallahassee to continue his studies as a pharmacy technician.
