On July 30, 2024, Jalesha Lasha Jeffery, a 45-year-old woman from Mayflower, Arkansas, was found dead in a parked vehicle outside the First Baptist Church of Mayflower, alongside her 24-year-old son, Antonio Quatez Simmons. Police had been called to the church around 12:30 p.m. for a welfare check regarding a vehicle in the parking lot off Highway 89, a routine request that turned into a sudden crime scene when officers discovered the two bodies inside.
