On July 30, 2024, 45-year-old Jalesha Lasha Jeffery of Mayflower, Arkansas, was found deceased alongside her 24-year-old son, Antonio Simmons, in a vehicle parked at the First Baptist Church of Mayflower. Both individuals had suffered gunshot wounds, and two firearms were recovered at the scene. Authorities have indicated that the evidence suggests both deaths resulted from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
